School Project in Ecuador
Due to the low funds of Ecuadorian schools, there is always a lack of teachers. Goal of this project is to provide children and teenagers with proper education and to compensate the lack of staff through the support of volunteers. The school project offers you the opportunity to work in a public or private primary school as well as in High Schools. Subjects that are to be taught include English, maths, music, art and sports. Qualified teachers are especially needed for English lessons. Volunteers may assist Ecuadorian teachers but you will also teach single handed. You are welcome to use creative elements when teaching, sing songs or use visual devices.
Accommodation and Meals:
Volunteers are placed in carefully picked host families. You will have your own room and three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with your host family every day. Furthermore, your laundry will be done once a week for you. You will be integrated completely into the family and take part in their activities as well. Hence you will receive a unique insight into the culture and population of Ecuador. You will have the chance to prove and improve you Spanish skills day to day. Your host family might be a married couple or a single person with or without children and / or pets. All the host families live close to supermarkets, internet cafes, post offices, malls, bars, restaurants, the historic city centre, night clubs etc.
