Teaching Project in Cameroon
Volunteers work in kindergartens, primary schools and High Schools. Therefore good French and English skills are necessary. The Cameroonian school year starts in September and lasts until June; it is subdivided in three semesters. The first semester starts in September and lasts until December, the second semester runs from the beginning of January until March and the third from April until the end of June. Your tasks as a volunteer include teaching English, mathematics, science, human rights, geography, history, environmental sciences and other subjects. Besides you will do childcare, teach computer skills and organize free time activities like arts, music and sports.
Accommodation and Meals:
Volunteers are usually accommodated by host families. You will receive three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) there and eat together with the family. Hence you get to know the eating habits of Cameroonians and you will receive an intense insight into the culture of Western Africa.
