Animal Protection Project in Ecuador

Wild animals are often illegally caught and sold to collectors worldwide. A lot of these animals were neglected and abused. This project is working with animal rescue centers, reserves and zoos towards accommodation these animals and if possible freeing them into the wild again. If you want to protect animals and are interested in all aspects of appropriate animal housing, this project is the right one for you! Volunteers mainly help out with the daily tasks and work with lots of different animals. Some of these tasks are:

- Feeding and care of animals

- Cleaning and Maintenance of the habitats and housings

- Improving the habitats and housings to make it a more natural environment for the animals

- Help teaching animals necessary skills, e.g hunting, to survive in the wild

Accommodation and Meals:

Volunteers are placed in carefully picked host families. You have your own room and three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with your host family. Furthermore, your laundry will be done once a week for you. You will be integrated completely into the family and take part in their activities as well. Hence you will receive a unique insight into the culture and population of Ecuador. You will have the chance to prove and improve you Spanish skills day to day. Your host family might be a married couple or a single person with or without children and / or pets. All the host families live close to supermarkets, internet cafes, post offices, malls, bars, restaurants, the historic city centre, night clubs etc.
