Pupils and teacher in public and private schools throughout Nepal are highly motivated to improve their English. Volunteers support them in learning everyday English skills, however you are welcome to teach maths, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, history etc.. You will be involved in special school activities, like sport events for example. Lessons are 45 minutes long and you will be teaching three to five lessons a day, six days a week.

Especially in the public schools you will face language barriers, but other English teacher will help resolving them. Pupils in public schools are between the age of 6 and 16 years old, in private schools some are as young as 4 years old. Through this project you will receive an insight into Nepalese teaching methods and in case you come during the school holidays, you will have the chance to work in other projects as well (e.g. in an orphanage, youth clubs).
