Our personal top 10 list of things to do in Cape Town and surrounding areas:
1. Table Mountain
Table Mountain is an absolute highlight of Cape Town. No way to miss that one. The view is stunning although it can get quite windy and cool on top. So you better take your jacket. Wherever you are in Cape Town, Table Mountain can be seen from almost everywhere. The best view you`ll have from the Waterfront, Bloubergstrand and Robben Island!
2. Walking up the top of Lion`s Head
I enjoyed walking up to the top of Lion`s Head a lot. I would do it again any time. It is an easy trail at first but the higher it gets the more difficult it becomes. You certainly shouldn`t be afraid of heights. But don`t give up until you reach the very top. The view is worth it, promised! With good weather conditions, you will be able to see the Twelve Apostels, Camps Bay, Sea Point, Signal Hill and the City Bowl.
3. V&A Waterfront and Robben Island
The V&A Waterfront has a lot to offer: Hotels, apartments, restaurants, a stage, a movie theatre, a Craft Market and a nice aquarium. All in all, it is an entertaining place. If you are interested in South African history, then you should take a trip to Robben Island. There you can participate in a tour and visit the cell where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned!

4. Sunset in Camps Bay
Camps Bay is the right place to sit back and enjoy the rest of the evening with friends. Either you take a seat in one of the comfy cafes or you enjoy the wonderful view on the Atlantic Ocean right from the beach. Just relax while watching the sunset in its warm colors! 5. Driving along the Garden Route
Take some days off to drive along the Garden Route and enjoy the phenomenal landscape! This is a tour for young and old as there are loads of leisure time activities to do. To name just a few: There are many hikes, you can feed ostriches and even ride them (hold on tight!), you can risk a bungy jump, surf one of the big waves or ride a horse on the beach. 6. Cape of Good Hope
Cape of Good Hope is another breathtaking place to go and not to be missed! It`s a good opportunity to drive along “Chapman`s Peak Drive” and enjoy the spectacular views.

The best time for whale watching at the South African coastlines is from July until December. If you want to have a very close look on them you have to visit Hermanus (about 2 hours drive from Cape Town). This is the place where Southern Right Whales come really close to shore.
