
Internship abroad and language course Chile

Chile covers different climatic zones and offers a divers habitats. There are various national parks and the UNESCO declared eight Chilean areas biosphere reserves. Additionally, there are three places considered World Heritage Sites: the National Park Chiloé with parts of its wooden churches, the historic area of the Seaport Valparaíso and the Humberstone and Santa Laura Salpeter Works in the Atacama Desert. In 1978 the National Park Torres del Paine was declared a world natural heritage site just like the National Park Rapa Nui on the Easter Island in 1995. Chile is characterized by its very different cultures in the rural areas in comparison to the cities. While folk with traditional dances and Indian art work dominate the rural areas, people in the cities are considered rather cosmopolitan.
