Research Internship at Business Consultancy for Charities
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The company is a business consultancy for social enterprises and charities. It was set up on the conviction that entrepreneurship and market approaches can contribute to solving the big issues we face in society, such as poverty, homelessness and climate change. As a firm they have been working with voluntary and community organisations to develop social enterprise since 2005, and in that time have worked with more than 300 organisations to raise more than £25 million of investment. They are a social enterprise and reinvest 50% of their profits back into the charity sector.
TASKS
To conduct in-depth research into the UK charity and social enterprise sector.
SKILLS NEEDED
- Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluent English required)
- Ability to self-manage time and work priorities
- Ability to source difficult-to-find information online or by phone
SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED
You will experience working in a small dynamic team on live projects with some of the biggest UK charities. You will build up a wealth of knowledge about the UK charity sector and have the opportunity to contribute to the management of the company. The clients tend to be socially focused, for example the sectors they are currently working in include drugs & alcohol abuse, mental health and disability. There will be further opportunities to connect with their network of clients on specific issues which interest you and accelerate your career in the non-profit sector.
